There has been quite a bit of discussion about Yasiel Puig and his "bat flip" after crushing a home run off of Giants pitcher Madison Bumgarner. Flipping the bat is seen as "showing up" a pitcher in some major league circles. However, I'd like to argue that Puig's bat flip is nothing to get upset about. Why? Because it's not a very good bat flip. Here is the offending highlight.
Puig is capable of much better, like this....
I personally prefer the obnoxious and arrogant bat flipping styles of Reggie Jackson.
However, American bat flippers don't even hold a candle to our baseball playing friends from Japan. I could watch these dudes bat flip all day. Hilarious and ridiculous.
